In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. May Allah bless the Prophet ﷺ, his family, and his companions, and grant them peace.
When we first visited Ma'arrat al-Nu'man, barely a dozen people moved among the debris of half-bombed, ransacked buildings. A city of ancient learning and civilisation had been reduced to rubble.
Our intention, formed in that moment, was to help restore it to life. We chose to begin at the roots — with education. We invested in it, and the city began to bloom.
Allah says: "Do you not see how Allah has struck a parable? A good word is like a good tree — its root is firm and its branches reach the sky. It bears fruit in every season by the leave of its Lord." [Quran 14:24-25]
Education is that good word made real. It is the root from which everything else grows.

Impact Achieved
The rebuilt institute now forms part of a broader network of educational institutions spanning the Idlib and Halab regions. Beyond education, the institute provides students with accommodation and daily living support — including food, sanitation, and heating — ensuring continuity and stability for those in its care. It also generates meaningful employment for educators and operational staff, contributing to the wider recovery of the community it serves. This project has therefore not only rebuilt infrastructure — it has restored dignity, stability, and access to knowledge for an entire community.
